Only great things to say about this place!! If you get the chance to spent a few nights out here, highly recommend. It’s a simple cottage, but the hospitality, views, and atmosphere make it feel like you could stay for a long time. Lovely home cooked food from their farm! Very easy to catch the bus as well as the bus stop is just a minute down the road. We loved our time here, the owners are so kind and warm.

A Scenic Retreat with Heartwarming Hosts – Perfect for Nature Lovers We had the pleasure of staying at Ashtam Cottage in Kaski, Nepal and it was an experience unlike any other — raw, real, and full of local charm. If you're someone who values breathtaking views and authentic connections over luxury, this hidden gem will absolutely win your heart. Stay dates: May 12-13, 2025 Booked from Agoda, not prepaid. Getting there: The location may take a little effort to find — it’s situated on the way towards Annapurna Eco Resort. Keep taking the uphill road and a gentle left will lead you to the cottage. Once you arrive, the view makes it all worth it. The hosts: The cottage is run by the most loving elderly couple, Ganga ji and Maya ji. Ganga ji is a seasoned trekking instructor with deep knowledge of the region, while Maya ji is an amazing cook who serves meals with a mother’s warmth. The homecooked food, especially the Aloo Parathas and eggs they packed for our journey, was absolutely delicious. The highlight: The panoramic view from the cottage is truly overwhelming in the best way. You’ll see the Fishtail, Annapurna, and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges, spread wide across the valley — a sight that can make all your photography and content creation dreams come true. Add to that visits from adorable doggos and the chance to dance with your hosts to a Nepali tune like "Resham Phiriri," and you’ll have memories to treasure for a lifetime. A few things to keep in mind: While the experience is heartwarming, a few basic amenities are limited, so it’s important to come with an open mind: Parking isn’t available on the premises, and there’s no official driver stay area. Bathroom facilities are quite basic — some door latches weren’t functioning, and we had to fetch water from a nearby public washroom. There is no running water in the attached bathrooms, but Ganga ji kindly offers hot water at NPR 100 per bucket if needed. The kitchen usage comes with a fee (NPR 300 per person) for oil and spices, which is good to know beforehand. The room comfortably fits three average-sized adults. If you're a group of four, we recommend checking the bedding arrangement in advance. On one occasion, the chicken curry we ordered wasn’t sufficient, as the hosts were also hosting a gathering — a moment of cultural sharing, though it left us wishing for a bit more clarity in meal portions. Bathroom amenities were missing and service is slow, but that’s part of the laid-back rhythm of the place. That said, we chose to adjust and embrace these realities, because the view and the heartfelt hospitality made up for it all as this isn’t a commercial hotel.
