I booked through booking.com app for 8 nights. About a week before my arrival, I received an email from the property initiating a cancellation. The email was confusing as it has a click button I can click to cancel the booking. Meanwhile, booking.com app showed that my booking was still confirmed. This led me to believe that this is a free cancellation option and I didn't think too much into it. When I arrived at the property, to my horror, I was told that my booking was cancelled and the property did not have any room. This left me in a very dire situation. There is an issue with the way cancellation is conveyed leading to the confusion. booking.com and property have to sort this out. Also, I find it very unprofessional for the property to cancel my booking so near the booking date. When I didn't click on the cancellation button in the email, they should have attempted to reach out to me via messages to understand the situation which they did not.
